Why does my excel 2007 change to excel online when I drag across to Onedrive

I have created a spread sheet in Excel 2007 and sent it to One Drive. In One Drive it has saved as Excel Online with the limited functions. i.e No painter
What can I do about it?

In OneDrive it is still the SAME file it was. There is no "Excel Online" format. It's just opening in Excel Online which can be more convenient but with less features. There should be an option to open in Office Excel but you may need 2010 or newer, I'm not sure. you can always download the spreadsheet, work on it in 2007 and reupload it.
