My Microsoft Surface RT does not power up.

I have a Surface Microsoft Windows RT 32GB. It was working fine and now it doesn't work at all. I try to figure it out online but they seem to have every tablet but the first generation. Anyone suggest anything I can do to try to get this thing to power up before I have to spend money and buy a battery

It's probably the magnetic end of the charging cable or the port itself.
Try cleaning the contacts with an eraser.
It may work if the charging cable hasn't broken.
