The only thing that is stopping me using my Lumia 950 as my main phone is the lack of apps available.

I want to get away from my iphone, but I cant, so many apps missing.

Hope this will change in 2017, but I very much doubt it.

My message to Microsoft is Please build a "Bridge" to allow android apps.

I don't want a android or iphone I want a Windows usable phone, but you are making it difficult.

Question is will Android app developers ever take interest in Windows phone.
Why work for pennies when you can make dollars on the popular platform.

Not gonna happen. If you'd like further reading, this topic has been discussed extensively in the past.

Oh, well. Doesn't really impact me much since I don't use any apps. I only use my Lumia 950xl to watch videos, no really.

I believe it because I mainly use my 950 XL for video also. Apps are just not a major priority for me. I have what I use .

There already was such a thing as project Astoria. It was cancelled.
One of the main reasons? Well, imagine how the developers who had been loyal to windows platform feel? This app would just ruin everything. Plus, you just cannot get the android apps for free like that. Developers themselves need to show interest. And by making the bridge, windows will lose its uniqueness. Although fewer apps, it has its own style.
And these are not even the main reasons. There was a huge article about this in the past, I don't remember much of it. But what i do remember is that they had valid reason to scrap it off.

I believe there are 3rd party emulators out there like bluestack and amiduos. I haven't tried them personally as I don't care about most apps.

That's for desktop, not mobile. Amiduos runs much better than Bluestacks but it's a real resource hog.

Yeah, other than devs porting or making their apps for Windows Store, there is no other way. But since not even Facebook puts any effort into the W10 apps, I don't see why should we blame the other devs. Those who still update their apps for WP8.1 or W10M are actual heroes(the ones who make my 3rd party Tumblr app TBlog are among them)
