Can I buy a surface pro 4 in the US and have the warranty in Canada.

I have been trying to find out if the warranty of a surface purchased in the US will work in Canada. The site says that the warranty is only good in the country the surface was purchased in. However, all the information for each warranty is identical and states that the warranty is only valid in the US and Canada. Has anyone dealt with this before?
