How do I eliminate unwanted page breaks so as to install page numbers where I want them?

This used to drive me crazy! There is an easy solution, though.

To remove page breaks go to the home tab -> paragraph -> click the "show all formatting" icon on the top right of that menu. It should be just to the right of the sort button. Then it'll show the page breaks on your document. You can simply delete or backspace the page break to get rid of it.
