Can I Reinstall Windows 10 Mobile Preview? - Lumia 1020

I joined the Windows Insider program before Windows Mobile 10 was officially released. MS dropped Lumia 1020 from it's supported devices soon after. So I am stuck on build 1511.

Windows 10 build 1511 works for me but I want to reinstall Windows 10.

Question is, will I be able to get back to Windows 10 mobile build 1511 if I factory reset my device, install the Windows Insider and do the updates? Considering the device is no longer supported by Microsoft.

The device came with Windows 8.1 (or 8.0, can't remember).

If you factory reset the phone, it will STAY on whatever OS it is currently on.

However, if you use the Windows Device Recovery Tool on your PC, you will be reverted to Windows Phone 8.1 and you'll have a bad time trying to get back.
