Can I uninstall microsoft edge?

So recently I ran into some problem which is probably a virus or something. Google chrome kept opening new tabs infinitely. Whenever I closed it, it opened again. When I uninstalled google chrome, same thing started happening to microsoft edge. It just keeps opening tabs and causing a lot of lag. Is there any way I can block them or uninstall microsoft edge?
