Why are videos on Instagram cutting out and causing it to exit the app completely?

Hi,

Wondering if you could help me as I'm awful with technology!?

I bought a phone second hand about three weeks ago, think it's a Nokia Lumia(?) new ish looking. Since I've had it every time I go into instagram, I get the same fault with the app. I can view and upload videos perfectly but everytime I go to view a video or even swipe past it too slowly the app will kick me out back to home screen before the video will play. I have Instagram beta, and from what I can see it's the most updated version.

Please can somebody help me out? I'm hoping it's an update or reset I need to do but like I say I don't know much about phones!

The old Instagram app (for Windows Phone 8) developed this problem several months ago. Depending on your phone, it might be eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10 mobile. The new Instagram app is much better.

Otherwise, there is an app called 6tag which is a third-party app, but is just fantastic.
