Can't use mouse to select dropdown menus from Edge

When I click on a text box field such as Name, a dropdown menu appears if I've filled in a like-named field before. I can use the keyboard to select a menu choice and the text box is filled with the data I selected. If I use the mouse to select*from the menu, however, the text box remains blank. What can I do?
