Surface Pro3 - doubling words when I use in tablet mode - how to fix?

When I try use my surface pro 3 in tablet mode, it automatically doubles words. For example, if I type caught it will autofill caughtcaught. It rarely happens in laptop mode, but it did yesterday when typing in onenote. It does some other strange things as well, like moving the cursor to a place where I am not typing, etc. I rarely use it in tablet mode for this reason, and leaves me wondering why I didn't just buy a laptop for half the price. Any ideas on how to fix this?
