Live tiles for windows central app

I don't know if its my Lumia 640 and 535 only, all running windows 10, that the windows central app isn't live, just transparent. I have to juxtapose it next to my outlook to get news and updates from their frequent mails. This is unlike my friend's 950. No app settings for the live tiles as well. Is there a work around??
