no ringtone

[Windows Central Question]

I think this problem cropped up after update. My nokia1020 does not ring when there an incoming call, nor does it play ringtones in the setting area where you assign ring tones. The sound level has been upped to the highest level. I can hear the sound when typing on the phone, so I don't think the mike is defective.
Please advise.
