Microsoft Nokia Lumia is turning itself off when going onto a text message.

Every now and again the issue is happening - when I go onto the text messages and click in the box to begin typing a message, the phone freezes and turns itself off - sometimes also when accessing emails.
I have been all through the forums and tried what has been suggested, but I am not having much luck.
Does anyone have anything new to try and solve this once and for all?!

What have you tried?
A soft reset? Checking you have enough free space in your internal storage? A hard reset? Windows Device Recovery Tool? Remove your SD card (if installed).
Failing all that perhaps your phones hardware is faulty.

P.S what model phone do you have?

Is it a lumia 950 XL? If so, when it turns off, is there a flash of green/yellow light?
