google email user and cannot find the icon or the flagged email themselves?

After hours of research I have not been able to find good information regarding where and does someone access their flagged emails. I am a desktop user that uses Gmail with plenty of emails that I cannot find?

I am not a big fan of Google or Gmail. I think the user interface is not that good.
