I have a dilemma,my friend has a L640 and it's her dads,and for some strange reason the messaging app is gone,I mean non-existent,she asked me what should she do,and I said try resetting it,mind you this was while were at work and I really didn't have time to get into it,but she said he had a reset protection password and he forgot it,I said ill hard reset it,well that made things worse,because now the phone is completely useless,besides calling Microsoft to verify his identity,if that's even possible,what should I recommend,any advice will be greatly appreciated PS,anyone have any idea why the Microsoft messaging app was gone,I've never seen or heard of that before,I didn't know that you could remove a "factory" installed app.

You must connect the Microsoft account that was connected before hardware reset. This will disable reset protection and allow continue OOBE.

The first thing to do is to remember what was email address and what was password of Microsoft account that was connected before hardware reset.

See OOBE, you should have an option to connect a Microsoft account.

I think I'm gonna have her dad try and reset the password from his Microsoft account,would that work,and you have to understand,these ppl aren't very tech(phone)savvy
