Update error 0x8024800a

Every time I try to update my 950 XL, I get the above error with a button to "Retry".

I tried changing my date ahead manually (7 days) and there were no updates available. When I changed the date back, I got the error again.

I am running version 14977.1 according to my phone. I have done a hard and soft reset with no change in the error.

That looks like an Insider build. Which ring are you on currently? Have you tried switching rings?

Should be on the Fast ring.

I have not tried to switch rings.

Suggest switching to the Release Preview ring temporarily. If the phone still doesn't find updates after 24 hours, then you should probably roll back using WDRT and subsequently check for updates.
