Windows Central Question
Replaced my backup drive with a WD30EFRX (NAS 3 TB Red). Using Disk Management I tried formatting the drive. I'm using a Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI motherboard, Sata 6.
The drive label D: was accepted. The drive shows as 2794.39 RAW. Basic, Healthy, Active.
Quick format will not work.
Using non quick format I allowed the drive to run for ~48 hours before I assumed it was not functioning.
Is there a way to check status on the drive during the format task? Should I just be patient and let it run longer? (I've already restarted the process). Per my database admin brother the task shouldn't take more than 6 hours.
