Simply put, can the new surface pen work with surface 3? What wouldn't work and what would work? And would it make sense to upgrade the pen but keep the surface 3?
Theoretically, it should work just fine, you just won't see a lot of improvements. You won't get the new low latency or increased pressure sensitivity, as that's all dependent on the display. You might get tilt support.
So not much of a reason to upgrade the pen only
My wife is using a Surface3, its fine and more than enough for browsing, games, and Excel.
If she needs a pen, which would it be? The new or the older pens?
