Rotation lock keeps turning off

When I connect my ASUS T102HA to its keyboard, the rotation lock setting turns on and gets grayed out, and when I disconnect it, the rotation lock always turns itself off and I have to manually turn it back on every time. It's such a hassle! Is there a way to keep rotation lock on even when I disconnect the keyboard?
