My friend's iPhone 4 can't open the WhatsApp after updating the app

Today my friend just updating the WhatsApp.. After that he try to open the app and it automatically crash.. He try to switching off the phone and keeps open it again and again but still he the got the same reaction from the app..

Additional INFO:
1)iOS 7.1.2
2) phone also cannot downloading any apps. So that's make he cannot try to delete the WhatsApp and redownload it
3)His phone memory is 9.7 GB Available and only 3.8 used..
4)He also keeps getting the massage from the WhatsApp but still can't open it at all just like I mentioned it earlier..
