Hi,

My wife just got her VivoTab Smart and I'm wondering if there is a way for a full USB to work on it. I'm considering on buying a Micro USB to USB2.0 cable. Would it work on this device? Would it be able to use any USB devices like a keyboard, mouse or flash/external drive. Would it be able to detect an iPhone and sync with iTunes?

I have a cheap micro-mini usb converter, and have used a keyboard and mouse, external hard drive, have synced my windows phone (can't see a reason the iPhone wouldn't work) and even used a usb hub (with keyboard, mouse and hard drive connected at the same time).

Yes I can confirm it works.

You want a cable called a USB OTG (on the go?) - available from Amazon.

I bought one that claimed to be compatible with Nexus 7 (also made by Asus) and that worked like a charm on my Vivotab Smart. Only thing is you can't charge and connect USB at the same time.

Yes you can. The OTG cable accessory is a very popular Nexus 7 accessory that will also work with your VivoTab. The Smart has full Windows 8, so yes, it will recognize your Apple product.
