Has anyone here used Net10? My Verizon bill has increased by $40/month since I upgraded and now have a shared data plan, so I'm looking at different options.

Straight talk is a good option.

I am willing to try Straight Talk, but from what I gather from the Net10 website I can use Verizon phones with them as well as AT&T. It would be nice to not have to buy new phones.

I read somewhere that straight talk recently started to include Verizon. You'd have to look it up to be sure.

Where do you see that Net10 will take Verizon phones?

Net10? Stay away please stay away.

Go to the Net10 forums and read the stories of false advertisements and crippled data.

Their website says that they will not accept CDMA phones.

I am guessing he has a Nokia 822 which is a dual band CDMA/GSM phone.

Since America Movil owns Net 10 and Straight Talk, maybe they do. ST has plans for GSM and CDMA using Sprint & Verizon towers. Their CDMA side does not allow BYOD, however.

Net10 only allows GSM phones for BYOD.
You will need a compatible GSM AT&T or T-Mobile phone. You may also use an Unlocked GSM phone compatible with AT&T or T-Mobile. This program/offering does not work with Straight Talk, TracFone, NET10, SafeLink, BlackBerry and/or CDMA phones.
    Shop | NET10

I have my Lumia 920 on Net10. Had a lot of data problems at firs tbut they've been ironed out and it's been working fine recently.

You don't get access to AT&T's LTE network, but for the price I'm happy enough with it.

Reading on Net10.com gave me the impression Verizon phones could be used. They even have a cdma coverage map. Net10wireless.com doesn't indicate cdma phones can be used. If I can't use my current phones I'll probably end up on straight talk.

Straight Talk does not allow BYOD if that device is CDMA.

Right. I'm trying to find a way to use my current phones, because buying out a contract is going to be expensive enough without having to get new phones.
