To buy or not to buy this is my question?

I've never bought anything from Gearbest before.

Well, now that I know it's real (saw Zac's review), I'd say go for it. The radios on the thing will only get you 2G at best...at least those are the frequencies it was capable of getting for AT&T back when I was buying one. But, it'll make a cool little W10M tablet to play around with. I've heard somewhat good things from Gearbest, but I've never purchased from them. Let me know what you do. I'll buy one with you....maybe. :)

Have bought many items from GearBest. They are safe and reliable. But since mostly from China; expect 2 to 4 weeks shipping. SOME items can be ordered from USA, sometimes same price, and therefore faster shipping. Gearbest is a good outfit.

why do you think it would only get 2G?? looks like it supports 4g and LTE from the description...

Well, according to the specs, these are the bands that the phone uses:
    GSM+WCDMA+FDD LTE*
    2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz*
    3G: WCDMA 2100MHz*
    4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100MHz

    AT&T bands:
    AT&T 2G and 3G 850/1900Mhz bands
    AT&T 4G HSPA and HSPA+ 850/1900Mhz bands.
    AT&T LTE 700/850/1900/1700/2100Mhz bands.

I'm no expert on this, so I may be totally wrong. But, if what I've found is correct, it looks like the phone will operate on the 2G and 3G frequencies at most. You have one band that the phone is listed as covering in the 4G category, but I'd be skeptical that that one band would be enough. From my experience with these Chinese phones with these bandwidths listed, they work ok as phones but horribly as data devices. I've owned three Huawei X2s (Mediapad and Honor variants). They are basically the same phones and all have had basic 3G frequencies covered, but only one worked with AT&T. The other two were identical to the one that worked, but would not function correctly on AT&T's data freqs. Neither myself nor AT&T could figure out why. With Cube's spotty reputation and pretty lame support of their products, I'd be willing to bet that using it as a phone/data device outside of their target market would be a rough experience. Having said that, I'd still love to get it and play around with it. :)
Again, I'm not an expert. I'm sure someone here knows more about this that I do.

Be kind of cool to get text messages on a device like this.
I wouldn't have much use for it as an all out phone.

This may be a good option for the DV8P we have that's starting to glitch.
Looks like the deal is close to being over :(

Yeah. I'd love to use the swipe keyboard function on it. I'm just kinda hesitant about buying it. I'd definitely use it as a phone, though, if I knew it would work properly. :D
I need a good push off of the fence so I can buy this thing. Ha ha

Maybe this thing will drop even lower in price in the coming weeks.
With my luck it will probably disappear on-line :(

I'd rather get the Alcatel Pixi. At least it's a known commodity and supports US LTE.

Can you buy this thing yet? I followed the link, but couldn't find an option to buy. I've been waiting on this tablet for a long while.

I can't find it for sale anywhere either.
Maybe the PIXI 3 will only be sold by US carriers for this market.
    Just guessing.

Gotta admit, I'm still kind of interested in this thing. Although, it's a dead end as far as updates and support are concerned. Plus, it just simply won't work on AT&T. So, for me, it would be a wifi only tablet running an outdated version of a slowly dying OS. Oddly enough, I still just want to try it out.
