Hi all,

I bought a dell venue pro 8 for my brother. The device suddenly started showing heat issues. Once turned on, the device would run may be for a 10 - 15 seconds & then gets heated pretty badly. It shows shut down option then abruptly shuts down. Issue is consistent

Have anyone faced this issue? Any suggestion

Send it back to wherever you got it. That is definitely a serious issue if it's hardware related. It could be software, but I doubt it. Try and get a replacement if you can. That's the only suggestion I can give you. It should not be getting that hot EVER, let alone after a few seconds.

The device was bought in USA & I gifted it to my brother who is in different country. I called Dell customer service & they are saying it can be serviced only in USA :(

should've checked it in the USA see if it's fully functional before sending it abroad.
you have 2 options:
1. have your brother send it back to you for warranty replacement
2. buy your brother another tablet.

Hmm, that's a tricky situation. As previously said, if you live in the USA, get your brother to send it back to you.

It was fully functional for a month....

yea probably some minute defect or potentially something your brother did reared its head.

best to get it back, then serviced, but of course there are plenty options such as selling it for parts etc.

Could've been a manufacturing error. These things happen. My Dell Inspiron 15r worked perfectly for 6 months, after that it was just problematic. Constant overheating, BSOD, Not turning on, power brick failure etc... My other two Dell PC's I've had for years and still work. The oldest one is 10 years old and still functions perfectly. Luck of the draw, really.
