I've got it into my head to buy this tablet on the 7th on it's UK release.

So far this has been the only decent video I've seen on keyboards for the pro 11.

Get accessorized with the Dell Venue 11 Pro - YouTube

I can't decide between the travel keyboard or the normal keyboard.

The normal keyboard will boost it's battery life and make this a hero device but adding bulk taking away from the fun of it being a tablet.

I'm mainly worried that the travel keyboard will be unusable on your lap.

Anybody got any opinions on the matter?

Are there any shops in your area where you would be able to try out the various keyboards and see which one you like best?

I want to order it ASAP so I don't want to wait.... I know it's the worst attitude to have with tech.

I think I've decided on the keyboard with the battery, mainly because the other keyboard looks flimsy.

I have had the Surface RT with a Touch Cover and a Samsung Ativ 500t with a similar clamshell keyboard attachment. I can say that I definitely like the clamshell keyboard more. And with added battery life makes it even better. It adds bulk for traveling but I don't think it would add too much. It shouldn't take any fun away from it being a tablet, the keyboard and tablet are not screwed together or anything and it easily detaches to make it a tablet. Also I feel with the clamshell keyboard it would be safer to use it on your lap. If you plan on using it a lot on your lap I would definitely consider the clamshell keyboard.

Touch cover 2 is actually more sensitive now and you can type better on it. I've tried it on lap and works great.

Cool, let us know what you think of the Venue 11 and the mobile keyboard when it arrives. You can give us a mini review if you like! I'm highly interested in this tablet and the keyboard you have selected. Not sure if you are going to get the Dell active stylus. I'm curious to see how well that works also.

Overall I think this will be a great device functionality wise. It covers all the bases with it's accessories: Clamshell Keyboard(my name for it ha) to make it like a Laptop, cover keyboard to make it a tablet with keyboard, and the docking station for desktop, and the pen/stylus for writing like a notebook. I don't see how people don't want a device like this! It does it all in one! I think it has better options for accessories than the Surface and Surface Pro does just because of their clamshell keyboard. But I don't think this tablet is as good looking as the Surfaces. But this should be a great alternative.

Ive ordered one, but without any accessories so far, it will be my first tablet so Id thought Id try it raw and work out what I need before buying anything.
Im cursing Nokia, if the 2520 had come with x86 support Id have pre-ordered the day it was announced, but RT, although fine is a step too far for me right now.

I just waited till they went on sale and grabbed both. Normally, I have the slim cover on mine when I'm out and about. If I know for example, I'm in the office all day, I'll throw the mobile keyboard in my bag as well so I can switch if needed.
