Hello all users of Pocket File Manager.
This thread is for poll. As we are almost ready to release Windows Phone 8.1 version, we want to know, can you live with new version because of new restrictions :)

Breaking changes in version for WP8.1 :

1. No more integrated audio player. Microsoft removed support for background audio players in Windows Phone 8.1 Silverlight applications!
2. You won't be able to see hidden folders
3. You won't be able to hide files and folders
4. Integrated PDF viewer will be removed.
5. You won't be able to edit any documents file when open them from PFM. They opened in Read only mode. Have no idea why :(
6. Send by bluetooth has been replaced with native share feature
7. Could be a few other things, not discovered yet.

What you get in new version:

1. Full access to phone memory
2. Full access to SD Card
3. Ability to share any file and files using "share" feature of WP8.1. That means you can now attach any files to email using phone's mail client, send by bluetooth, tap+send.

i understand the "lost" features may be a blow to some, its a shame, that the new OS has restricted those element, for me personally, things as they are proposed aren't a problem

Yes i can live. Especially because i am planning to buy 930 which wont have sd card, so phone access is a big thing. Many people are jumping to other "file explorers" because they can access the phone memory.

I miss the ability to move everywhere inside an mp3 by a seek bar. Otherwise, I will like the new version :)

For wp8.1 we will release Folder Player as Wp8.1 RT application. It will be just folder music player. I have no info when, but we will make it as PFM no longer can play music because of its Silverlight nature.

Ray there's an article on WPC about "file explorers" on 8.1, guess you missed the ship.. Bad, i did my part by commenting nicely about PFM though.. :)
I hope this 8.1 version of PFM can try up aerize explorer ! Bring it on soon ! :)

What can I do? I sent PM to Daniel (a few day ago), but I think he just did not paid attention :)

This was the sole reason I purchased PFM and now its gone :(
