This is just a quick look at the new Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen (XT1541) with it's 13MP sensor and f2.0 aperture.
I have had it for a couple of days, and have found the camera to be quite adequate. Motorola seem to think that it's camera is class-leading in the mid-range segment. I agree that it's daylight photos are quite nice, but it's a rubbish performer in low light. See below for a comparison with my Lumia 830, 2 different scenes, one in almost complete darkness, the other at sunset.

Moto G3 Auto [an unusable shot]
Moto G3 Night Mode (2MP) [slightly more light captured (very slightly), but at the expense of resolution]
Moto G3 Forced HDR On [full res and far more light captured, making this the most usable shot from the Moto, and making the Night mode utterly pointless]
Lumia 830 Auto [easily the best shot of the bunch]
Moto G3 Auto [good colour and ok detail, but overblown highlights, scene is too bright, not representing the actual brightness at dusk]
Moto G3 Forced HDR On [good colour, better highlights although sky is still too bright, very soft and lacking detail]
Lumia 830 Auto [again the 830 produces the best shot, still overblown sky, but much more detail is captured]
