Programs with Microsoft Edge freezing, what can I do to stop it?

Programs with Microsoft Edge freezing

Recently noticed that after opening MS Edge that it will freeze and not respond. Can't open a new window. Tried to reboot the computer (HP all-in-one with Windows 10 pre-installed)...no good. I can use the "task manager" to close Edge and then reopen it....but it should close with the "x" function. Any suggestions.

I've also occasionally seen that on my HP AIO and new Surface Pro 4, so it's obviously an Edge issue.

Edge is awful on my HP laptop. Page rendering is brutal. I still use IE.

Edge and this Website/Forums are aweful to use..
Nothing worse than typing in a large post where you are helping other users with a problem... and the stupid browser refreshes and wipes out your contribution. Constant Lockups, constant browser shutdowns, weird mouse behavior.

Starting to tire of the whole experience.
