Switched Default Search Engine in Edge from Bing to Google and Back to Bing after Half an Hour

So I've been using the Google search engine forever. Since the changing the default search engine in Edge is buried in Advanced Setting and way near the bottom, I didn't do it right away. However, yesterday I came across a post on how to change the default search engine in Edge so I changed it to Google without delay.

But then every search came up with an annoying message box in the upper right-hand corner telling me to install Chrome. After half an hour I had gotten so tired of it, I switched it back to Bing.

That's because Google detects which browser you are using and then decides that you should be using Chrome. I've seen it happen quite often when you visit google.co.uk etc when using someone else's PC, but isn't there a tickbox to tell it not to display again?

I tried changing Edge to Google, but I don't get any message for some reason?
