Mousewheel scroll is jerky

I'm giving Edge a go on my desktop PC, however scrolling pages with the mouse wheel is headache inducing. When I scroll down a page, it snaps/jerks down, and isn't smooth like it is in Firefox; In Edge, the page 'clicks' down and stops in sync with each click of the scroll wheel rather than have the smooth 'momentum' effect you get when clicking and dragging the scroll bar.

It's a deal breaker for me, as when reading text, scrolling jumps down and I loose my place, and browsing around pages is jerky as heck.

I've changed mouse properties and reduced the scrolling from 3 to 1 line at a time, but it still jerks down, just in smaller increments.

I can't see any smooth scrolling plugins for Edge. Is this normal behaviour, or is there a setting I'm missing?

I'm using mouse 3500 and it works in Edge just like IE11, not jerky. set for 5 lines at a time

It turned out that installing 80MB worth of bloatware for my ancient Logitech G3 mouse has solved the problem.

No, I had to install the software. Since owning the mouse I'd never installed a Logitech driver for it, it just worked plug and play.

In the Logitech Setpoint software there's a checkbox for smooth scrolling, I guess since Edge doesn't have smooth scrolling built in, it required it from the driver/Setpoint.

You have to install the Setpoint program to set the scrolling speed. Edge browser doesn't know what mice you are using.
