Developers flocking to the Surface

How fast do you think it will happen. I think there's major opportunity in this. This is the next iteration of Windows, so the industry simply can't ignore it. Everything is going to center around Windows 8 in the next year, which is a few months away.

Everyone seems to be on their side, because you aren't just developing for the future of tablet computing, but you're also developing using what's for the current generation. With Windows 8 tablets, we'll be getting Photoshop CS6, Halo 4, ...

Millions of devs will obviously make apps for Windows 8. It is windows so it will sell hundreds of millions of copies regardless of how bad it is(Vista).
However before the Surface was announced, keeping the traditional desktop on a tablet for consumers did not make sense and was stupid but after surface was announced it all makes sense now and I want one.

What does the ecosystem look like today?

I mean, why aren't they demoing some hardcore games like Gears of War or HALO on this?

Now that I think about it, I don't even know what this tablet is capable of..
