MS has an AMAZING opportunity with the dock connector they introduced with the Surface. They should make it mandatory on ALL Windows 8 tablets, with it's placement being along the long edge. It would give accessory makers a way to make universal docks that would work with all Windows 8 tablets. If they don't make it mandatory, they at the very least should make the design available to manufacturers so that they can use it if they choose. This would make for a much easier time for 3rd party accessory makers, and having lots of cool, interoperable accessories would make the Windows 8 ecosystem stronger and more compelling. Plus then they could make that amazing keyboard cover a selling point of Windows 8 Tablets, and not just of the Surface.
