    So, I ordered my Surface RT on the 18th from Microsoft Australia, the website promised delivery by November 6th, which is bad enough,

    But I'm a bit concerned about my order after reading about the confusion about UK deliveries, orders being cancelled by Microsoft etc.

    Looking at my transaction history on my card tells me that the hold order on the money for the Surface has been cancelled, and the money is back in my account.
    Looking at the Microsoft website tells me that my order is still in progress, and that I should expect my Surface by November 6th.
    Going to commerce.microsoft.com tells me that my card has successfully been charged to the value of my order, and that the transactions have been 'settled', even though clearly the money is back in my bank account.

    Did anything like this happen to anyone else? Should I be concerned?

    The "hold" is to make sure you have the money on order. They'll charge your card on shipment, so it is possible to not have the money at that point. I think you'll be fine.
