acer iconia w700p scroll using touch?

I just got my w700p and I'm having trouble getting it to scroll using touch. I expected like with other touch devices I've used that dragging with my index finger down would scroll up and dragging up would scroll down. However in firefox and cdisplayex it doesn't scroll when i do this. is there something I'm doing wrong or need to configure so that this will work? or is there another way to scroll like this that I'm overlooking.

I know this might sound like a silly question, but it is something that people sometimes overlook. Did you remove the protective film that was on the tablet when you got it?

I sure did. I can interact and scroll elsewhere in windows and in other apps I've tested. Which is why I find it odd I'm having problems with these two.
