So just to be clear I am only interested in tablets, not hybrids or anything with extra bulk etc, if theres a hybrid that does have same kind of form factors, same or better specs etc then maybe Id be interested so I guess MAYBE on that front but Im after the tablet form over anything hybrid etc.

Also not fussed about the extras that the Pro version brings, RT is fine for me for a tablet, its just for Apps and browsing, I have a WP so some sort of windows tablet makes sense really.

So before I pre-order my Surface 2, any recommendations? Wait for Nokia, only thing is I need to buy something before October 30th, I can claim almost 50% back at work :)

there are no alternatives. For anyone who thinks there is throw it up here and it'll get shot down.

I have a Surface RT right now, and I wouldn't want an alternative. I've had Nexus 7s and iPads and this thing is perfect for me. *shrug*

I should have been a bit clear, its only Win alternatives I am interested in, before Id been looking at things like the yoga and if I wanted a hybrid Id probably get the newer one.

Asus T100. Much cheaper, keyboard included, runs on the new Atom what means full Windows.

Just remember full windows does not include office. If that is something you need.

Everybody with a Office 365 subscription on a main computer has probably licenses left anyway. I do. For me this wouldn't be an argument.

But of course it has to be considered :)

Also, my old Office 2010 license can be installed on two devices, on a main computer and a portable device.

I would rather use the surface 2 for free office as well as he extra stuff that comes with them such as SkyDrive and Skype extras so for me there are no alternatives.

Maybe wait for nokias tablet.

pretty sure all bay trail tablets will include office.

i'm very happy with my envy x2 (clover trail) and am selling it to move up to bay trail.

The Asus T100 comes with full Home and Student Office. It's a much, much better investment than a Surface. And it's $100 cheaper with the hardware keyboard dock included.

I would agree with that... just wish the t100 wasn't such a low spec device. they could have easily bumped up to 4gb ram and put a battery in the dock for $499 to make it a much better alternative.
