So limit is $800 +/- $100.

Which full windows tablet would you choose, the limit here (for me) is I dont really want some hybrid that ends up being quite big, I dont mind things like surface pro with the touch tablet as its quite small, but something like the Yoga would be too big, I really want the Tablet form factor.

Recently realised I do need full windows hence this new discussion as I still want a tablet over a hybrid :)

I would go Surface Pro. If you are primarily using it as a tablet with only occasional keyboard use, nothing beats the type/touch cover for thinness and ease of use (folding it back).

If you want full Windows more for convenience than trying to play games or run processor-intensive applications and aren't super concerned about "lapability" then you could do worse than the $800 Bay Trail-based Sony Vaio Tap 11.

The Surface Pro 2 is $899 for the 63GB model. If your budget is +/- $100, then that would be a great choice.

as far as processor and RAM goes, the SP2 definitely is the best spec'd tablet. just keep in mind that for $100 over your initial limit it does not come with any key input other than the onscreen keyboard and with 64GB for full Windows you won't have much space available so you probably either need to buy a microSD card or rely upon SkyDrive's bundled 200GB for 2 years for file storage with the knowledge that you'll have to fork over more cash once the two years is up to keep a higher level of storage than free users.

If it were me i'd still look for the official pricing of the Bay Trail-based Sony Tap 11.
- 11.6" screen that's more usable from a productivity perspective
- 128 GB of on board storage with the option to expand it further via microSD
- included wireless keyboard cover that offers a much better typing experience than the Type cover
- significantly thinner and lighter than the Surface Pro 2
- also comes with an active stylus although it takes a battery unlike the Surface Pen
- look for confirmation on this once full details are released but i believe they will come with GPS and NFC

ok think Ill wait and see :)

Have to say I do like that the Sony Tap 11 has GPS but Id much rather a Surface Touch style keyboard on it, I think it would then seal the deal and Id get the Tap 11!

The Tap 11 looks like the one I would get but the price is a bit high for the good versions.

I hope we start to see similar high end 11.6" tablets soon.

So which tablet/laptop would you guys recommend if I want to replace my three years old laptop? As most college students, I'm not allowed to spend more than 1k in a laptop, so price range must be between $600 and less than $800. Things I'd like to have:
• HD screen (maybe 1920x1080? Am I asking too much?)
• 13" screen
• 3 lbs (or less because I'd like to take it to school)
• i5 ( I even accept i3 if necessary ._.)
• 128 GBs and 4 GB of RAM.

So far I've seen the Acer Aspire S7 ( I almost bought one for $750, but Microsoft canceled my order) and the Lenovo Yoga 13. Are there other options?

Acer Iconia w700.
Available with either core i3 or i5, and both with 64 or 128GB hard drives. 11.6'' screen, and the best part is 7-8 hours legit battery life from users.

Here is an affordable i3 model in your price range : Acer 64GB Iconia W700-6831 11.6" Tablet NT.L0QAA.005 B&H

And here's the powerful i5 with full 128GB : Amazon.com: Acer Iconia W700-6499 11.6-Inch 128 GB Tablet (Silver): Computers & Accessories

It has a pretty cool case/cover that basically turns it into an ultrabook :
