Reset to factory ready for sale, does it wipe 8.1 and put it back to 8.0

Hi, just about to receive my SP3, I'm re-setting my existing tablet back to factory settings etc.
The tablet came with Windows 8 installed, I later upgraded to 8.1 via the store.

Does the reset wipe out 8.1 and put it back to 8?

Only asking as the person getting my old tablet may or may not need to update it back to 8.1.

With the Surface RT/2 I don't think it does, but with a Windows 8 tablet, that too not a Surface Pro (?) I'm not sure. Since you're selling it I'd advise you to reset anyway, then post the results here and let the buyer worry about updating it if it reverted back to 8.0. Some people may not want to update to 8.1 although it may be inevitable because 8.0 users aren't going to receive any future updates IIRC.

Thanks Rajeev. Went ahead as you said as it needed to be done and yes it does re-set things all the way back to 8.
8.1 shows up in the store ready for install. It will be up to the new owner to update or not.
