Surface 3: enough horsepower to run Office?

I'm thinking about a Surface 3 (not a power user that would benefit from the Pro 3, plus the price tag is a big factor), but have a few questions. I'd use it primarily for Power Points, Excel, occasional word, Evernote, browsing (including Wix and Worpress editing).

Would it be enough to run what I've listed? Thanks!

Most definitely. The Surface 3 isn't super high-powered (obviously) but it'll accomplish what you're asking for easily. The Surface 3 is built basically for what you want to do (Office, browsing, note taking) in mind.
Hope you enjoy your soon-to-be-new Surface!

Nice! Another question, I've got a 64gb iPad that seems to be more than enough for what I need. Is 64 enough for the surface or would 128 be better? Although it does have microSD support so does that make that much of a difference in terms of the 2gb vs 4gb models?

Thanks a ton for taking the time out of your weekend to post an answer, much appreciated.

It's worth pointing out that the 64GB retail model of the Surface 3 comes with 2GB of RAM. The 128GB model has 4GB. That was what played into our decision to get the 4GB/128GB model. The Surface 3 has been great for our needs, so far! Having the microSD slot is icing on the cake for us. :)

Ah yes I highly suggest spending a little extra money to get the 4GB RAM 128 GB internal storage model as it's very much worth the little extra. Especially that RAM.

I agree except that I think it is the additional storage that is especially worth a little extra money. Windows does a terrific job with memory management, but the storage footprint of Windows itself seems to expand over time. The speed of SSD storage also means that any swapping that takes place will be far better than when having to swap to a physical hard drive.

But yes, the 4GB/128GB is pretty much a necessity, IMO, for anyone wanting to push their Surface beyond a couch surfing device.

I would have to agree with you there, but having more storage doesn't help when your performance isn't up to it. 2GB of RAM is technically more than enough but it really does show if you try to push it like people think a Surface can be pushed. 4GB of RAM is better all around performance and future-proofing wise.

Thankfully, 4GB/128GB is a package deal... it's not either/or. :excited:

I use my S3 daily for surfacing, word, excel and basic other stuff. No complaints. I do have the 4g / 128 g model
