Actually I pretty much know what I want, it is the updated version of the HP stream 13. I still do not like how they kept the standard 32gb of storage as the only option, I had the older version of this it was great apart from the storage issues (I had no apps installed), if I do would I be able to attach a external hdd to run windows apps on the device. I knew it was not possible on the older version running windows 8.1, but I keep hearing conflicting report that it may or may not be possible on windows 10. Is it possible?

It is possible now. Wasn't last year.

My testing just now indicates the functionality is limited to SD cards and not USB drives.

Neat, I stumbled into a thread on Windows Central on that subject. I should of searched before posting; but I am ecstatic that they finally addressed this issue. The older version I had the memory was full due to the many windows updates I had, other than that I'd use it for web service stuff; and trying to steer away from the chromebook I own.

That's interesting insight. I guess most laptops have an SD card slot though, and that's more easy to carry than external drive.
