Wow! They released Nokia Drive for all WP8 devices. Not just for Nokia Lumias now. The best bit is it full screen 720p - no black bars. App is beta but works wonderfully. You cannot search for it as it is hidden but link is below:

    http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=...1-28018fcea606

Only for US, Canada and UK for now.

Also on the details page, scroll down to the link 'More from NAVTEQ EUROPE B.V' and install Nokia Pulse beta too!

Nice. But how much memory does the app take ? Or better yet how big are the country maps ? From what I understand there are separate maps for each country

The country maps are the real storage hogs... The app itself is only about 6mb.

How does the phone verify that you are in the UK, US or Canada?
    -GPS?
    -Service provider?
    -Phone settings?

Any way to get around this and get the app to work in other countries?

That's strange. On my Nokia Lumia 710 I can choose which country map to download and it can work wirelessly even with the SIM card removed. Not sure if this is because my phone is unlocked or because it is different for non-Nokia devices. I can definitely use Nokia drive on my phone without a SIM card.

I am from India and I'm really worried about the navigation system. Will Nokia drive launch in every country for non-Nokia phones ???
