Is it possible to make the alarm volume louder?

It does get louder if I keep a short alarm repeating, but I was curious if it was possible to have a song that started out louder initially

Turn your phone face down so the speaker is pointing up and it will be much, much louder when it goes off. I start work at 3am most days and it always wakes me, even if I have noly had a few hours sleep.
