So what happens to the 8s (only 4gb) then?
Will it have less than a gig of free storage for apps!?

I read in a couple of reviews that there was 14.58 GB available out of the box.

The 12 GB you read in these forums were a guess. I asked how much people thought would be left and one guy said "10-12 GB". Another person responded by saying 12 GB was a possibility.

Just did a quick check...zdnet and phonearena reviews of the 8X both say 14.56 GB available out of the box. I believe that it was the AT&T version.

I'm afraid 14.56 GB is the total storage - out of which about 2.4 GB is taken by the OS! Plus 800+ MB is taken by some "other" files.

EDIT: About 300 MB out of 800 is used for offline maps I downloaded for test :-)

The total storage is 16 GB. 14.56 GB are available...the OS, formatting, files take up 1.44 GB.
