Anyone make this purchase yet? Since Verizon users have their phones coming in the next few days, and Verizon doesn't have the plates yet, debating going to AT&T to pick one up?

They will work, but our ATT doesn't have any yet. If you go on Verizon's website they list the black and white Nokia wireless charging plates and you can order online, but when I did the sales chat she said they didn't have them so... Hmm.

    Set Your Location

If the link doesn't work just go shop, under accessories click view all, then chargers, then at the very bottom

Now that is for the Lumia 822. It's not compatible with the 8x correct?

An agent just told me it isn't available for the 8x yet...?

I think you're spot on. They are all Qi compatible. There are currently a few Qi Wireless charging pads available but all must be used with a charging sleeve that wraps around the phone.

So the Verizon 8x would need a sleeve on to wirelessly charge? Not feeling that at all...seems counterproductive.

Nope, the wireless charging is built in for the VZW 8X. No sleeve needed.
