    I'm trying to see which would be the better deal. And if unlocked, where can I get a red HTC 8x?

    IMHO unlocked phones are always the best option. Will never ever ever get a contract again - I always regret and end up spending more than what I would on a prepaid plan + contract free phone.

    If you order an unlocked 8x and use it on tmo for example you will not be able to use hspa+ in the US
