Has anyone attempted completely rubbing off the soft touch?

Is this even possible? I've been wondering what the phone would be like soft touch free, and have contemplated rubbing off the coating by some means.... anyone else?

I've considered it, myself.
Feel free to do it and post your results!!!
The 8X reminds me of the black monolith (2001).
Without the soft finish, it would be even more like it.

is the polycarbonate underneath a gloss finish? if it is, you're going to get a ton of micro marring and swirl mark scratches (like on a car) from daily use. If you remove the soft touch finish, i'd recommend applying satin or matte transparent vinyl over the housing.

Someone needs to do this. I picked off some of the flakes to make it less obvious but I'm not sure how smooth it will come off
