I have installed GDR2 without any issue on my 8x. All of the leaks and news I've been reading more recently about Gdr3 are very exciting. My only question is will this update also come to the 8x or solely for future WP devices (or current high end Nokias).

    Thanks

Windows 8.1 will be available for all Windows Phone 8 devices. I've seen talk that WP9 will also work on current WP8 devices.

Shame the 8x won't be getting the extra wide tile displays that the Lumia's are getting, damn them and their non-standard HD display resolution.

There hasn't been any information one way or another as far as I've seen. From what I can tell it's all speculation and the Nokia fan boys kicking up dirt.

It will be interesting to see. WPCentral is reporting that the 3rd row of tiles will be available on phones with AT LEAST a 1280x768 resolution. The 8x clocks in at 1280x720. Just under the rumored requirement.

Confirmed, no extra row of tiles on anything under 1080P
