I purchased a AT&T HTC 8X for my Boyfriend about six months ago.
His phone had been working great just up until this past week. He started getting the "SIM Error" message (no sim card detected, only able to make an emergency call). He resets the phone and it is fine for a while but then it just starts doing it again. It started off happening just a little bit, now it happens to him almost all the time.
I noticed from searching in the Forum that there were a few possible fixes:
- Pulling the Sim Card out and blowing inside the sim card slot, and putting it back in.
- Putting tape on the back of the Sim Card, cutting the excess tape off the edges with an exacto knife and putting it back in.
- Going to AT&T to get a new sim card for the phone.
I was just wondering what method has worked best for everyone. His phone is still in great condition and there haven't been really many other problems so I would like to avoid having to get a new phone.
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
