HTC 8X safe to update?

Hello.
My HTC 8X is freezing any time when I stop it from charging and must be restarted. If an app has errors and cannot be closed, I must restart my phone.
I want to update my device, but I saw many of you having problems using the device after update.
What do you think? To update my phone, or not?
I attached a screen. I think it rules GDR2.

Your device seems to have some serious troubles. Did you think about sending it in?

My initial experience with GDR3 was rather bad. My phone was slower and lagging. However after a few days there was another update resolving all the troubles. I would definitely update, if you can go through the update process without your freezes.

First I want to reset it, then update to GDR3. I saw in this topic that many people had problems after updating and no one knows a solution for them. I'm afraid of updating.

Don't you have your contacts saved on a Windows Live or Exchange account? I'm not sure if you can copy them back to the SIM, I only know the import function.

I would probably just update and hope it gets better with the freezes (but backup the data anyway before doing it).

Actually if I had a problem that is so reproducible, I would send it in. At least my carrier did update to the latest software anyway when I had to send it in.

If you don't mind going through the issue of reinstalling, then reset first then update is probably an excellent idea.

So, after many erros before I was able to update, Ii finally installed. The only one problem is that I don't have any GDR3 features installed.
I'll attach some screens:
1-4 Errors before update.


5 The phone is updated.
That is the first time after installing the update. The X in multitasking don't appears and the phone won't charge turned off.

6. It appears that I have to update again.

7-8-9-10. ******* update won't work and it shows me that another update is ready for installing.
What am I supposed to do?

I would think its a patch to fix your problems. Maybe stop it cold and do the Developer Preview method. I have 3 8X's running this way.

Well, since you said "please".

First, go here http://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/featured/update3 and register for a free App Studio account using your WP/Windows account info. Follow the instructions. After your registered, get this http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=178ac8a1-6519-4a0b-960c-038393741e96. Once the app is installed open it, login with the account info, enable preview then just go to Settings, Update. Let it do its do, and good to go.
