Hey guys, have been a long time Verizon customer soley for the coverage and fact that most of my family is on Verizon. I am currently on the Trophy, but due to Verizon's complete lack of info on new windows phones, I am going to pay my ETF and get a Lumia 900 over at ATT. My problem is, I need to make the switch before the 900 actually comes out for other reasons. The plan would be to get my service setup, and use the Trophy off contract until the 900 is released.
I have SIM unlocked my Trophy, and tested it with an ATT SIM card. I am able to make and recieve calls just fine and can even get Edge data. I cannot seem to get 3G data, even though it supposidly supports the ATT frequencies. I think I can live with edge only for a week or so.
Has anyone done this? Is there some other mechanism that might kick in and stop this from working somehow? Also, is there any legal reason I can't do this? I own the phone once I pay my ETF and should be able to do whatever I want with it, no?
