So is the StraightTalk Ascend W1 an unlocked GSM phone or T-Mobile compatible?

I've seen this at my local walmart and its really nice! Now, from what I remember StraightTalk uses only T-Mobile's network but I'm unsure as to whether or not I can buy this and use it with my T-Mobile SIM without issues or if they have some kind of wizardry that prevents me from doing so. Anyone know?

Hi I have the exact same phone and to answer your question it is locked directly to straight talk to some extent on there At&T network as it is the last phone that managed to get a AT&T license, SIM card and service before the deal went down hill. So pretty much you'll receive a AT&T SIM with the phone etc. As for T-mobile SIM compatibility I'm not to sure as I don't have one laying around to test ( I have only been using the SIM that came with the phone) but I think it might be possible although data and speeds might not be up to par.
